From my own visits, I've learned that preparing well in advance can make all the difference between a stressful day and a fun-filled outing. One of the most critical items I always pack is a refillable water bottle or a straw cup. Texas heat can be intense, and staying hydrated keeps the little ones energetic and happy. I usually fill up at the park's drink stands where they offer free ice water, saving money and reducing plastic waste. Sunscreen is non-negotiable. I prefer mineral-based SPF 50 sunscreen that is pediatrician tested, fragrance-free, and water-resistant for at least 80 minutes. This protects delicate skin from the brutal Texas sun, especially since preschoolers spend lots of time outside waiting in lines or playing. Backup clothes are another must.
