Sweet summer pastry ✨🍓
these flaky golden pastries are filled with sweet cream cheese and topped with fresh strawberries and a light glaze. they are soft in the center, crisp on the edges, and seriously so good.
ingredients
1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
4 oz cream cheese, softened
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
1 half teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup fresh strawberries, finely diced
1 egg
1 tablespoon water
glaze
1 half cup powdered sugar
1 to 2 tablespoons milk
small splash vanilla extract
directions:
preheat oven to 400 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper
roll out puff pastry slightly and cut into 6 to 8 rectangles
lightly score a border around each piece without cutting all the way through
mix cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla until smooth
spread a spoonful into the center of each pastry
add diced strawberries on top
whisk egg and water, then brush the edges
bake for 12 to 15 minutes until golden and puffed
let cool slightly, then drizzle with glaze
tips:
pat strawberries dry so the pastry stays crisp
do not overfill the centers
