I am not a rich man

Growing up with Indian heritage, I've always been taught that hard work and integrity are more valuable than material wealth. Working at Safeway earning around $200 to $300 weekly may not make me rich by traditional standards, but it builds my sense of pride and responsibility. The satisfaction of contributing honestly to my livelihood far outweighs what’s in my bank account. Money can buy comfort but not genuine love or respect. I believe these come from a pure heart, something nurtured by family values and personal effort. Many people in my community emphasize education and perseverance, and I see my job as a stepping stone to greater goals. It reminds me that success is personal and not just about income. I’ve also learned to appreciate non-material wealth — meaningful relationships, cultural identity, and inner peace. Being proud of my roots while carving my path in America helps me stay grounded. Despite challenges, I feel rich in experiences and values. This journey shows that wealth is multifaceted and that love and dedication often define our true riches.
