Ancient. Anatana.
The Atanabhakra is an important sutra in the Tripitaka, and the Sect Pabhakha is one of the longest chapters and the source of the belief in "anti-human spells" in Theravada Buddhism.
The story begins when the Buddha was in Kishgut, Rajasthan, and on one night, the four Dhavjatu Maharaj: Dhavathatthong, Dhavirupak Six, Dhavirupak and Dhavasuvan, along with a large number of attendants, approached the Buddha.
The Great said that although there are many human beings who are devout to the Buddha, there are still others who are not devout. Because they are dissatisfied that the Buddha taught humans to refrain from killing animals, extorting, and sacrificing that used to benefit them, some human beings may disturb monks who go to forests or places.
To this end, the four Dames of the Great offered a "leg love," or protection, to the Buddha, so that the monks, bhikkhunis, ubasks, and ubasigas could use the recitation as a shield.
The name "Atanabaya" comes from the city of Atandara, which is the royal thani of giants in the mandate of the Vesuwan.
The content of the first part of the sutra is humble to the Buddhas of the past and present, e.g.
> Introspection, the name of the Bhagava...
Sikhi's name is Bhagava...
Vesbu, Bhagava...
Guson Tho...
Gonagno...
Gaspo...
Kote Mo...
The overall meaning is
"Submit yourself to the enlightenment Buddha, who extinguishes passion, who transcends pity, and is the refuge of the world."
Then the sutra will praise the Buddha for being enlightened of all the worlds, merciful, pointing out the way for angels, men, and animals.
It will be a section that discusses the giants, angels, divines, nakhs, and undead in various regions, as well as the names of many important leaders.
The essence lies not in calling those lists, but in declaring that
"Who is a disciple of the Buddha Samma, who is located in Ratta, is in the protection of Dharma."
In the key material, King the Great declared to the undead:
If a man thinks of a monk, a nun, a bhikkhu, a bhikkhu, or a bhikkhu, who prays to the utensil, the man is reproached, not protected by the Great, and is as guilty of the law of the world.
The commentary explains that this sutra is not the expulsion of ghosts by magic, but is like an affidavit from Jatu the Great, the greatest of all men.
It is like a traveler carrying the king's epistle. Through the cities, people dare not bully.
In a deeper sense, Athana taught that even the undead, angels, or Brahma, are subject to the law of karma, and no one has the suzerainty.
What really protects the practitioner is not the words of witchcraft alone, but the precepts, concentration, and faith behind the prayer.
If one prays with confidence in Rattanatraya, the mind will be brave, not frightened. When fear decreases, preconceived and hallucinations also reduce strength.
Many teachers say that the true power of Athanabhadra is to bring the mind back to Buddhism, Buddhism, Buddhism, Buddhism, and Buddhism.
Thai Buddhists are popular in the Buddhist tradition of praying to Atana Buddha when they are in isolated places, when there is unrest, or when they feel that there is a secret disturbance, believing that it is the Buddha and the divine world to protect them.
After all, the Buddha endorsed the love of this leg and allowed the monks to recite it, thus becoming an important legacy to date.
May the power of the Buddha, the virtues, the majesty, and the protection of the four Great Dajatus be made free of fear, free of all dangers, visible and invisible, with exercise and wisdom, prosper in the righteousness of the Buddha, when in the desert, there is consciousness, when in the dark, there is light of wisdom, when in the suffering, there is righteousness, and with the power of this majesty, let all inauspiciousness perish, as the darkness breaks down at the sun of the heart, and let all kinds of happiness befall you.
จากประสบการณ์ส่วนตัวและความรู้เกี่ยวกับอาฏานาฏิยปริตร ดิฉันเชื่อว่าการสวดบทปริตรนี้ไม่ใช่เพียงแค่การสวดด้วยถ้อยคำที่มีพุทธคุณเท่านั้น แต่เป็นการสร้างจิตใจให้เข้มแข็งและยึดมั่นในพระรัตนตรัยอย่างแท้จริง อาฏานาฏิยปริตรถูกประกอบขึ้นเพื่อให้ภิกษุหรือลูกศิษย์ที่อยู่ในสถานที่เปลี่ยวหรือมีภัยอันตราย มีเกราะป้องกันจิตใจจากความกลัวและสิ่งที่ไม่เป็นมงคล ด้วยการนำนามของพระพุทธเจ้าทั้งหมด รวมทั้งท้าวจาตุมหาราชและอมนุษย์ฝ่ายธรรม เข้ามาคุ้มครองในพระสูตรนี้ ทำให้เรารู้สึกถึงพลังและความปลอดภัยเมื่อตั้งใจสวดด้วยใจสมาธิ ในทางปฏิบัติ การสวดอาฏานาฏิยปริตรด้วยจิตที่แน่วแน่ ทำให้เกิดสมาธิและความกล้าหาญในการเผชิญกับอุปสรรคต่าง ๆ และจิตที่สงบช่วยลดภาพลวงตาหรือความกลัวที่อาจเกิดขึ้นได้จริง การเข้าใจว่าศีล สมาธิ และความศรัทธา คือสิ่งที่หนุนเสริมและสร้างเกราะป้องกันจิตใจมากกว่าคาถาหรือเวทมนตร์เพียงอย่างเดียว ทำให้ผู้ปฏิบัติมีทัศนคติที่ถูกต้องต่อการสวดและมีการพัฒนาในทางธรรมอย่างยั่งยืน นอกจากนี้ อาฏานาฏิยปริตรยังสะท้อนหลักธรรมเรื่องกฎแห่งกรรมที่แม้แต่เทวดาหรือพรหมยังไม่อาจพ้นได้ สิ่งนี้ทำให้เราเห็นคุณค่าของการตั้งมั่นในทางธรรม ไม่หวาดกลัวต่อความลึกลับแต่ใช้ความเข้าใจอย่างมีปัญญาในการดำเนินชีวิต สำหรับผู้ที่สนใจ อยากลองสวดอาฏานาฏิยปริตร ควรทำด้วยความเคารพ ตระหนักถึงความหมายและอานุภาพแห่งพระพุทธคุณ พระธรรมคุณ และพระสังฆคุณ รวมถึงขอพรจากท้าวจาตุมหาราชทั้งสี่เพื่อได้สัมผัสความสงบและป้องกันภัยต่าง ๆ เหมือนที่ชาวพุทธไทยรู้จักและยึดถือกันมา ด้วยวิธีนี้ อาฏานาฏิยปริตรจึงเป็นมากกว่าคำสวด คือเป็นเครื่องมือชั้นดีที่ช่วยให้จิตใจผู้ปฏิบัติตั้งมั่นในพระรัตนตรัย มีกำลังใจที่เข้มแข็ง ไม่หวาดหวั่น และสามารถดำเนินชีวิตอย่างมีสติปัญญาในโลกที่เต็มไปด้วยอุปสรรคและความไม่แน่นอนได้อย่างมั่นใจ
