Every Wednesday I try to make this class to learn more about my religion. As a woman who was born into Islam , I had to find my way to it. This class is a way where I can better myself and right some of my wrongs. I get to see familiar faces and even some of my cousins. For about the past 3-4 weeks our lessons have been focused on the right things we should believe in when it comes to Islam.
☪️ Here are the notes I took : * No imagination can fully conceive of Allah ; no understanding can fully comprehend it || whatever you imagine in your mind of Allah it doesn’t compare or it’s even greater than what you’re thinking 💭
* You have not been given knowledge except for the knowledge that accepts a little
* No one will know who Allah is except Allah himself ( looks wise)
* Allah doesn’t resemble with any of his creations
* Al mushadiha : those who resemble Allah with his creation —> if you fall among these people you become a kaffir
* Al ithbaat : those who affirm Allah’s attributes
* Allah is living and never dies
* Allah always sustains and never sleeps 💤
* Allah is the creator without need
* Allah is the one who causes death without any fear
* Allah has spent time with his timeless attributes before he created us. It continues forever ♾️
... Read moreStepping into my weekly Islamic class has become a cherished ritual, a sacred pause in the hustle of life where I can truly focus on my spiritual growth. It's more than just a class; it's a community, a sanctuary, and a source of immeasurable peace. I remember once I was searching for a space like this, a place where I could connect with others on a similar journey, and I’m so grateful to have found it.
From the moment I lay out my prayer mat, often next to friends and even my cousins, there's a palpable sense of belonging. We often have snacks on the side, creating a warm, informal atmosphere that makes learning feel natural and engaging. I’ve seen some sisters in beautiful abaya jackets, and it just adds to the comfortable and respectful environment we cultivate. It’s these small details that make the experience so rich and inviting.
Our Ustaz, Abdul Rashid, is truly a gift. He has this incredible ability to keep everyone engaged, blending humor with profound intelligence. His lessons on aqeedah – the core beliefs of Islam – are eye-opening. We delve into the Sunnah, the Quran, and Hadith, exploring what we, as Muslims, are meant to believe. It’s not just about memorizing facts; it’s about internalizing truths that shape your entire worldview. He breaks down complex concepts about Allah's attributes in such a clear way, making them accessible and deeply moving.
The class isn’t just about listening; it’s about connection. I love seeing familiar faces, catching up with my dear cousin Zainab, who always brightens my day. There's a shared understanding, a collective aspiration to better ourselves and draw closer to Allah. After the class, especially after the Maghrib prayer, there's always a buzz of conversation, questions, and reflections. It's a beautiful way to end the session, solidifying what we've learned and strengthening our bonds.
For anyone considering deepening their faith or exploring Islam, finding a supportive community like this can be transformative. It’s about taking those practical steps – whether it’s finding a local class, dedicating time for personal study, or simply connecting with fellow Muslims. These lessons don't just stay within the classroom walls; they integrate into my daily life, guiding my choices and actions. It’s a continuous journey of learning, reflection, and striving to embody the beautiful teachings of our religion.
