😕
One of the most exhausting things in life is pretending.
Pretending to have it all together.
Pretending to be someone you're not.
Pretending to fit into rooms that require you to leave parts of yourself outside.
The strange thing is this:
Many people spend years trying to be accepted by others, without realizing they've slowly stopped accepting themselves.
We curate our lives.
We edit our thoughts.
We say what people want to hear.
We become experts at creating versions of ourselves that earn approval.
But eventually something catches up with us.
Because wearing a mask may attract attention.
But it rarely creates connection.
People may admire the image.
But they connect with the person.
Authenticity isn't about saying everything that comes to your mind.
It isn't about being rebellious or refusing to adapt.
It's about having the courage to let your outer life and inner life stop being strangers.
The people who sleep peacefully at night are not always the most impressive people in the room.
Sometimes they're simply the people who no longer have to remember who they pretended to be.
If you're constantly trying to become someone else, ask yourself:
What would happen if you spent that same energy becoming more of yourself?
Because the right people don't connect with perfection.
They connect with truth.
What's one part of yourself you've become more comfortable showing this year?
