Replying to @ma_shiin Raven from teen titans is so past my skill set but I tried
You guys asked for Raven from Teen Titans, and honestly, she felt like a huge challenge for my skill set! But you know me, I couldn't resist. I finally sat down to try and bring her iconic look to life, focusing heavily on getting that signature mystique just right. It wasn't entirely smooth sailing, but I learned so much along the way that I just had to share! Whether you're planning for cosplay, Halloween, or just want to try a fun, dramatic makeup look, getting Raven's unique teen titans raven colors and sharp features down is key. Let's talk about Raven's core colors: deep purples, stark blacks, and that pale, almost ethereal skin tone. For the base, achieving that ghostly pallor was absolutely critical. I started with a good hydrating primer to create a smooth canvas, then went in with a Color Foundation (White) – a crucial step for that otherworldly vibe. I really built it up gradually to get the intensity I wanted, making sure to blend it down my neck for a seamless look. After that, I set everything meticulously with a translucent Laura Mercier Powder to lock it all in, prevent creasing, and give that matte, almost porcelain finish. This foundation step truly makes all the difference in creating that distinct cartoon character base. For the eyes, Raven's look is all about drama and intensity. I dipped into my Morphe X Meredith Palette for those rich purples and deeper shades to create a smoky, mystical effect around the eyes. The trick here is patience with blending – you want a smooth gradient without harsh lines. I used a Flower Knows Liquid Liner for a super sharp, slightly winged line to define the eyes perfectly and give them that characteristic edgy appeal. And for that intense, almost stark brow, the Make Up For Ever Artist Pencil (Endless Cacao) was fantastic for detailing and shaping, giving them a strong, angular look that mirrors her personality. Now, for the hair – this was an adventure! To get that vibrant, temporary purple, I used L'Oreal Colorista 1 Day Color (Purple). A little word of warning from my experience: Wear Gloves! Seriously, I learned that the hard way when my hands ended up looking like I’d just fought a grape. The spray definitely pigmented my hair beautifully, giving it that perfect Raven shade, but it also, regrettably, somewhat messed up my carefully straightened hair. So, be prepared for that trade-off or plan your hair styling accordingly – maybe a wig is a safer bet for a pristine hairstyle! Despite the slight hair mishap, the color payoff was amazing and definitely helped complete the transformation. Once the makeup was done, I took some photos. As you might notice, achieving the exact, glowing eye color Raven has in real life without special contacts can be tricky. So, I did a little editing to get that signature Raven eye color to really pop in the final shots. It just brings the whole look together and makes it feel more authentic to the character, especially for photos. Overall, even with the challenges of trying a character "past my skill set," I'm pretty proud of how it turned out, and I hope this peek behind the scenes and my specific product breakdown helps anyone else wanting to try their hand at a Raven cosplay or raven teen titans makeup look! Remember, practice makes perfect, and don't be afraid to experiment with your own raven teen titans color palette ideas. What characters should I attempt next? Let me know in the comments!
