What 100lbs down ACTUALLY looks like
This is just your friendly reminder that even if your body isn't your "Goal body" after you hit your weight goals, that doesn't mean you failed, made less progress or didn't do enough. I've lost over 100lbs and now have more saggy skin than I did when I first started. I have excessive skin on my back, thighs, arms and especially my stomach. I now have an apron belly when I didn't before. But that's okay. You don't have to have an hourglass figure to be healthy. You don't have to have tight and cellulite free thighs to matter. You don't have to have a flat and flawless tummy to live your best healthy life. My body looks like this because I put work into myself. The skin that hangs is a testament to the blood, sweat and tears that I put into myself. It is a part of me and all of me is worth it. So are you. For instance, finding clothes that fit well when you have loose skin can be tricky, as sizes don't always account for the unique contours of a post-weight loss body. I’ve found that experimenting with different cuts and fabrics helps a lot. High-waisted leggings and supportive shapewear have become my best friends! Emotionally, the journey doesn't end when you hit your target weight. Many of us grapple with 'phantom fat,' still seeing ourselves as larger than we are, or feeling disappointed if our body doesn't conform to societal ideals of perfection. It's a continuous process of self-acceptance and celebrating your progress, rather than fixating on perceived flaws. Remember, your body has gone through an incredible transformation, and it deserves respect and love for carrying you through it all.
