ROMANTICIZING MY LIFE SAVED ME FROM MYSELF
Life got dark. Really dark. I was stuck in a toxic environment, barely crawling my way through each second of the day. 2024 showed me the issues I couldn't ignore. My injury led me to finding out I have a chronic illness, for the first time ever, bpd reared its ugly face in my head, I had to accept my worst fear, being stuck. All of these things tore me apart and they still do but not anywhere near what it once was. After crying out to the world one last time in an effort to regulate, I realized that I was the only one that could make my life better. I was the only one that could take the steps to learn my triggers and cope. That's what I'm doing but in order to succeed, I've decided to romanticize everything I do. Give it a purpose to be beautiful. The tears I cry turn into photo ops, my negative body image turns into my villain arch, and so on. Simple tasks like studying or cooking dinner is a quest and my mission is world dominance. I know it sounds crazy or unconventional but it really works and I honestly recommend that you give it a try if you're someone who is struggling with your day to day life and finding purpose for it. When we make that conscious decision to try to make things better for ourselves right now, life gets a whole lot easier and reaching the goals that you have set become so much easier to reach because you're not fighting as hard just to get through the day. Give it a try and let me know how it goes!

In today's fast-paced world, many individuals find themselves overwhelmed by the weight of their daily lives. Strategies like 'romanticizing' can provide not only comfort but also a powerful coping mechanism. By infusing everyday activities with purpose and beauty, it becomes easier to navigate mental health struggles, as evidenced by numerous success stories across social media platforms. This technique encourages individuals to view tasks—from cooking to studying—as opportunities for self-expression and creativity. It enables anyone facing hardships, particularly those suffering from chronic illnesses or mental health issues like BPD, to reframe their narratives, transforming dark days into meaningful journeys. As you learn to attach beauty and significance to even the most mundane moments, your perception shifts, allowing for a more positive outlook on life. Acknowledging and addressing your triggers in this constructive manner can lead to improved emotional health and resilience. Implementing small rituals—such as documenting beautiful moments through photography or treating self-care as a sacred duty—are just a few ways to utilize this concept. Embrace the idea that life can be both challenging and magical, and experiment with this technique to see how it resonates in your daily routine.
