how do u feel about the "old money" aesthetic? 💵💼
#letschat personally, I like the look, definitely not the social, political connotations that comes with it 😒 but then again I'm not very picky when it comes to these things, I can find aspects of every aesthetic that I like.
I think the one thing I don't like about it, is how plain it can be. sometimes it just seems like fancy minimalism 🥴
if I were to dress in the "old money" way, I'd probably keep the same plain silhouettes, but have more interesting patterns in my garments and more accessories, like pink suede, colored jersey fabric, chanelka, lots of pearls, and more whimsical hairstyles
The 'old money' aesthetic evokes elegance and understated luxury, often characterized by timeless pieces and classic silhouettes. It's a style that resonates with the notion of wealth without ostentation, emphasizing quality over quantity. While some appreciate its minimalistic approach, others feel it can appear overly plain. To enrich this aesthetic, consider incorporating patterns or bold accessories that reflect personal taste. Popular choices include pearls, colored fabrics, and distinctive hairstyles that add a playful touch to the ensemble. Additionally, integrating elements from different fashion eras can breathe new life into this classic style. Many enthusiasts are exploring vintage inspirations from the 90s, like the bob haircut or trendy blowouts, that harmoniously blend with the old money vibe. Those who enjoy this aesthetic often curate a wardrobe that symbolizes sophistication while allowing for individual expression, balancing timeless elegance with modern flair.
