Apple added landscape applications to at least 12 other major apps, including:

* Apple Music

* Podcasts

* Fitness

* Health

* Reminders

* Home

* Shortcuts

* Apple Watch

* Find My

* Weather

* Voice Memos

* Apple TV Remote

In addition, Apple added a horizontal display to the Dynamic Island area Live Activities as well.

Many apps do not just rotate the screen, but adjust the UI to resemble an iPad, with Sidebar on the left and the main data on the right, such as

* Health

* Fitness

* Reminders

* Weather

* Home

This concept allows for more efficient use of screen space on all devices that support iOS 27, especially when used horizontally, whether it's putting the machine on a desk, running it in conjunction with a stand, or using it on devices with larger screens in the future.

According to several media tests, some Landscape Mode apps still seem more like a "first version" than a completely redesigned UI.

For example,

* Music and Podcasts support horizontal only music playback screen

* Some pages in Health and Fitness still have quite a lot of space.

* Some of the element placement also seems to stretch from vertical mode rather than actually being redesigned.

🤔 Why is Apple doing it now?

Many divisional analysts view the massive addition of Landscape Mode to iOS 27 as perhaps a preparation for a rumored folding-screen version of the iPhone that will be released in the future, under the name "iPhone Ultra" or "iPhone Fold."

Because when the unit is unfolded, the screen ratio is close to the horizontal usage all the time, requiring more apps to support the same Sidebar and Multi-pane Interface as the iPad.

No matter what iPhone version you run that supports iOS 27, this is considered one of the more practical little features than it seems; especially time.

Even many screens haven't reached the "iPad Experience" stage, it's a change that allows for more efficient use of screen space; and it seems to pave the way for the future of newer Apple devices rather than just plain little features.
