I’m writing a book

Heres the relationship between the two characters

He pulls me close to him. My body tenses and all my senses are distraught. He whispers “why so violent.” “You used your magic to trip him.” Zion smiles against my ear. “He kissed your hand.” I go to move but he holds me tighter. “I don’t want any man touching you.” My arm suddenly burns. I look down towards my arm and there’s a smaller tattoo next the one he gave me in cell. Another bargain. “How did you set another bargain. I never agreed to it.” I have more power than you can ever imagine. I will do as I please.” I’m so angry. He’s forced me to make two bargains now and I had no choice in them. I feel my power boiling at my finger tips . I let the darkness roll out of my hands. It starts to choke him. He doesn’t fight back. I know he could if he wanted to. Zion smiles at me, “I’m glad you’re learning to weird your magic, he barely chokes out. “What is the bargain you just made.” I try to keep my eyes pierced on him. I let the darkness squeeze harder. “Tell me.” I roar at him. “I can’t if you’re choking me .” He laughs. He thinks this is funny. I’ll show him funny. I Let the darkness loosen its grip on his neck. I then I wield it to how I feel right now. I feel pushed and shoved to wherever he wants me to be. I push the magic out of me with full force and slam him up against the tree. His two royal guards laugh. “What is the bargain.” I ask one more time. “No one can touch you but me , until our first bargain ends,” he laughs. “That’s not fair.” How could he. He acts like our one night never happened and as soon as his royal guard kisses my hand he does this.

... Read moreIn contemporary fantasy literature, the concept of magical bargains often serves as a catalyst for character development and plot progression. These bargains can introduce dilemmas that compel characters to make choices reflecting their desires and vulnerabilities. The intricate relationship between the characters you are following highlights the emotional stakes involved in such agreements. Zion’s insistence on control over the protagonist showcases the complex interactions often present in fantasy narratives, where power dynamics are blurred by magical elements. This narrative device not only enriches character arcs but also engages readers in exploring themes of consent, autonomy, and power struggles in relationships. The tension built through actions, such as the protagonist's use of magic to express anger and assertiveness, illustrates the chaotic yet compelling nature of love interwoven with supernatural elements. Readers are offered a glimpse into how personal agency can be both enhanced and challenged by external magical forces at play. Moreover, the symbolic imagery of tattoos as contracts strengthens the narrative’s depth. Each tattoo signifies a bond or obligation tied to one's magical capabilities. This enriching detail can evoke intrigue and empathy, fostering connections with readers who appreciate layered storytelling. As you continue reading, consider how these themes resonate within broader fantasy genres, and what they reveal about human experiences in the context of transcendent relationships.
