This decade has been a whirlwind, marked by unprecedented global shifts, rapid technological advancements, and a unique blend of collective experiences. When I look back, I often wonder, what exactly will spark that pang of nostalgia for the ‘20s in the future? For me, the early 2020s were defined by a strange mix of staying home and discovering new ways to connect. I remember the surge in home baking and cooking – sourdough starters, anyone? – and the way simple comfort foods suddenly felt like a lifeline. Maybe in twenty years, we'll look back at a picture of a soft pretzel with mustard and feel a wave of warmth, remembering the small joys we found. Beyond food, the digital landscape truly exploded. TikTok became a cultural phenomenon, dictating trends in fashion, music, and even language. Will we miss the specific dance challenges, the viral sounds, or even the sheer novelty of short-form video content that dominated our screens? Then there's the fashion and aesthetics. We saw a huge resurgence of Y2K trends, cottagecore, and a general embrace of comfort-first clothing. I wonder if future generations will marvel at our oversized hoodies and sweatpants, or the ironic fashion choices that defined our early years. On the entertainment front, streaming services solidified their dominance, offering endless content for our prolonged periods indoors. Specific shows, indie games that blew up overnight, and even certain podcasts might become core memories for many of us. It’s fascinating to consider the “20-year nostalgia cycle” – how trends and cultural touchstones from two decades prior often resurface. If that holds true, the 2000s are making a strong comeback now. So, what from our current decade will be strong enough to capture that same sentiment in the 2040s? Will it be the resilience we showed, the way communities came together online and offline, or perhaps the unexpected beauty in the quiet moments of a world paused? It’s not always about grand events; sometimes, it's the mundane, everyday things that become the most cherished memories. I truly believe that what makes a decade nostalgic isn't just the 'good old days,' but the shared human experience within that timeframe. The early 2020s, in particular, created a unique global consciousness. So, what about these years do you think we'll reminisce about? What unique trends, experiences, or even struggles will define the ‘20s in our collective memory? I’d love to hear what comes to your mind!

I can’t think of a single thing 😂 I mean a lot of people are somewhat nostalgic for the pandemic if you want to count that in the 20s
