Don’t miss me if you were the reason you lost me

... Read moreI've been through situations where someone suddenly reaching out and saying "I miss you" felt painful rather than comforting. It’s important to realize that missing someone doesn't always mean they deserve to come back into your life, especially if they caused you harm. One lesson I’ve learned is echoed perfectly by the phrase, "I am as far away as you pushed me." It’s a powerful reminder that boundaries are crucial. If someone repeatedly mistreats you, walking away is a form of self-respect, not weakness. When people who hurt you try to reappear, it can stir mixed feelings—confusion, sadness, or even anger. But holding onto those feelings often prevents healing. Instead, I found that focusing on my own growth, surrounding myself with supportive friends, and setting clear boundaries is the healthiest way forward. It’s okay not to forgive, especially if the relationship wasn’t just unhealthy but harmful. Forgiveness is personal and doesn’t mean you must tolerate repeated bad behavior or reopen old wounds. Protecting your mental and emotional well-being is essential. If you relate to this, remember you’re not alone. Many have faced similar experiences where others acted selfishly or insensitively, yet they found peace by firmly moving on. Trust your feelings and choose what’s best for you rather than giving second chances to those who don’t appreciate or respect you.
