A nameless (probably 💧) tunnel in the middle of a walking path around the dam lake of Serikawa Dam in Shiga.
It is thought that it is not so old from the retaining wall of the valley.
All the water in the dam was drained by the renovation work, and it became a rare scenery. (I think that the construction is finished now and it is restored)

After a long time, I was quite surprised (laughs)!!!
Even though I'm going the same way,
I didn't realize that I was just thinking about looking for a tunnel earlier.
Although I'm scared by the mossy figure,
Why in the first place???

「ダムの底」って、正直かなりレアです。私が芹川ダムで見たのは、改修工事で湖の水が抜かれていたタイミング。いつもは水面の下に隠れている場所が、まるごと地形として現れていて、湖というより“谷の地形”に戻った感じがしました。湖底には道のような筋も見えて、昔からの地形や作業用の導線がそのまま残っているのかな…と想像が膨らみます。こういう「珍しい湖」の景色は、狙って行けるものではないので、見られたら本当にラッキー。 散策路の途中にあるトンネルも、派手さはないのに印象に残りました。入口が石積みっぽくて、森の中にぽっかり口を開けている感じ。中は暗く、出口の光がやたらきれいに見えるタイプで、短い距離でも“探検感”があります。しかもダム湖を一周するルート上にあるから、「次は何が出てくるんやろ？」って気持ちになりやすいのが良いところ。トンネルを抜けたあと、振り返ると暗がりの奥に出口の明るさが残っていて、写真を撮りたくなる構図でした。 行くなら、足元対策はしっかりめがおすすめです。森の散策路は落ち葉が積もっていたり、雨の後は滑りやすかったりします。トンネル内も日中でも暗いので、スマホのライトがあると安心。あと、工事や放流などで状況が変わる場所なので、「今、水が抜かれているか」「散策路が通れるか」は事前に軽く情報を確認しておくと無駄足になりにくいです。 それと個人的に忘れられないのが、帰り道で見つけた苔むした狐の像。行きに同じ道を通っているのに全然気づかなくて、急に視界に入った瞬間、心臓が止まるかと思いました…。お稲荷さんの狐みたいな雰囲気なのに、森の落ち葉の中にぽつんとあるのが余計に不思議。トンネル目当てで行ったのに、最後はこの“謎の狐”に全部持っていかれました。 もし「新名神 トンネル」みたいな大規模トンネルの迫力を期待すると方向性は違うかもですが、ダム周りの散策で出会う小さな土木構造物って、こういう“静かな面白さ”があります。芹川ダムは、たまたま条件が合うと「ダムの底」まで含めて記憶に残る景色に出会える場所でした。
