『チーズスイートホーム』で“猫のしぐさ”や“表情のかわいさ”に癒やされるタイプの人って、猫が言葉を話さなくても何を考えてるか想像できるのが楽しいですよね。私もまさにそれで、猫アニメ枠として気になっていたのが映画『Flow』でした。 結論から言うと、『チーズスイートホーム』みたいな日常ほのぼのとは方向性が違うけど、「猫の目線で世界を見る」体験はかなり満足度高め。台詞が一切ないので、頼りになるのは黒猫の仕草と鳴き声、そして周りの自然音だけ。それでも不思議と感情が読み取れて、こちらが勝手に“翻訳”しながら観られるのが面白かったです。 『Flow』の猫は、可愛いだけじゃなくてサバイバルの緊張感が常にあるのが特徴。大洪水で水没した街を進むシーンは、映像が綺麗な反面、水の圧や冷たさまで想像してしまってちょっと怖い…。でも、だからこそ猫がふと見せる警戒の顔、安心した瞬間の動きがリアルに刺さります。3DCGの動物の動きが細かくて、「猫ってこういう時こう歩くよね」みたいな納得が何度もありました。 あと、ポスターのイメージ通り“水中”の描写が印象的。黒猫が魚に囲まれるような場面は幻想的で、静かなのに情報量が多いです。Prime Videoで観ると、画面の暗いシーンでも細部が見やすくて没入しやすかったので、できれば部屋を暗めにして観るのがおすすめ。 『チーズスイートホーム』みたいに「猫に癒やされたい」目的だと少し重く感じるかもしれないけど、「猫が主役」「言葉じゃなく行動で気持ちを読む」のが好きなら相性◎。観終わったあと、猫の表情を読む楽しさと同時に、人間がいない世界を想像してじわっと考えさせられる作品でした。
