私もブロードウェイミュージカル『シカゴ』の来日公演に行った経験があります。1920年代のシカゴという禁酒法の暗い時代を舞台にしながら、殺人犯の女性たちがメディアを巧みに利用して名声を掴んでいく皮肉とユーモアに溢れるストーリーに強く引き込まれました。 特に印象的だったのは、生演奏のジャズサウンドと伝説的な振付家ボブ・フォッシーのスタイリッシュでセクシーなダンスでした。ダンサー全員の鍛え抜かれた身体の動きが、ブロードウェイの熱気をそのまま体感させてくれます。また、主演のブラッドリー・ジェイデン（Billy Flynn役）をはじめ、Velma Kelly役のジャレンガ・スコットやRoxie Hart役のサラ・ソータートの演技も素晴らしく、来日公演ならではの臨場感を味わいました。 現地のシアターオーブの1階前から10列目という良席での鑑賞は最高の体験でした。なお、公演2日目には人気のCELL BLOCK TANGO歌詞入りTシャツが売り切れになるほどの熱狂ぶり。私もパンフレットやクリアファイルなどのグッズを購入し、公演後は友人と記念撮影をして楽しい思い出となりました。 さらに、驚いたのはアンコールステージでの撮影OK。プロのダンサーたちの一瞬一瞬の表情や動きを自分の目とカメラに焼き付けることができ、ファンとしてはたまらないサービスでした。写真撮影は難しいですが、それもまたライブの醍醐味だと感じました。 今回の公演は、生のジャズと際立つ振付、個性豊かなキャスト陣、そして来日ならではの雰囲気が融合した最高のミュージカル体験でした。これから行かれる方には、ぜひ公式グッズのチェックと上映前後の写真撮影も楽しんでほしいと思います。また、シカゴカラーのネイルや服装で雰囲気を盛り上げるのもおすすめです。
