私は以前から菊や似た花の育て方を楽しんでいるので、このガーデンマム「GIGI」にもすぐに興味を持ちました。菊とよく似ていますが、ポンポン咲きの特徴が可愛らしく、色も黄色、白、そして淡いピンクが混ざり合うため、庭に彩りを加えてくれます。 このガーデンマムはとても丈夫で、過去に菊で経験したように水やりはさほど頻繁に行う必要がありません。雨水だけで十分しのげるほど耐寒性と耐乾性があります。挿し木も簡単で、切り花の残りものを挿し木にしても根付きやすいので、無駄なく楽しめるのが嬉しいポイントです。 私も花瓶がない時はコーヒーの空き瓶を利用していますが、こうした再利用方法で部屋に飾るのがおすすめ。見た目もかわいくエコです。さらに庭に植えた後はほぼ放置でよく、たまに肥料を与えれば長期間楽しめます。 個人的には、花の色が最初は白や黄色に見えても、じっくり見ると淡いピンクも混じっていることが多いので、花が咲き進むにつれ表情が変わるのも魅力だと感じています。暑さが和らぐ秋口に向けて、蕾が美しく開花するのを待つワクワク感もオススメです。 これからも雨の多い季節に重 宝するガーデンマムならではの育てやすさを活かして、楽しんでみてはいかがでしょうか？私のように気軽に挿し木を繰り返し、庭を彩る花を増やすことも十分可能です。
