In my personal experience, embracing faith and maintaining a strong Christian foundation offers invaluable strength and guidance through tough times. Living in Southwest Florida (SWFL), I encountered unique parenting challenges that required creative solutions—from managing day-to-day responsibilities solo to making sure my two boys thrived emotionally and spiritually. One crucial aspect of my journey was establishing a parenting style that emphasized resilience, independence, and faith-based values. Instead of relying on external support, I chose to engage fully in my children’s lives, instilling a sense of responsibility and pride in them. The phrase “Just a Christian” encapsulates my approach—not seeking perfection but walking through life’s ups and downs with faith as my anchor. For other single parents, I recommend building a support network, even if informal, and tapping into community resources when needed. Yet, nothing replaces the daily commitment and love that comes from showing up authentically and consistently for your children. Parenting solo pushes you to be creative with time management and self-care, and always reminds you how important it is to nurture your own spiritual and emotional well-being. The solo journey is not easy but is deeply fulfilling. I plan to share more insights into my SWFL parenting style and experiences to encourage others facing similar paths to feel empowered and connected through shared stories of faith, strength, and growth.
