#foryou
Deciding which volleyball club to join is a significant choice for any athlete, and I faced that decision head-on with several great options available to me. Clubs like One United and Frisco Flyers each had their unique appeal, from training styles to team culture, but ultimately, I chose Excel and haven’t looked back. One key factor that influenced me was the coaching approach. Excel’s coaches focus heavily on individual skill development while fostering a supportive team environment. This balance made a strong impression, as I wanted to improve not just as a player but also as a teammate. The club’s emphasis on discipline and positive reinforcement aligned perfectly with my values. Another consideration was the club’s location and schedule compatibility. I wanted a club that fit well with my academic commitments and daily routine. Excel’s training times and practice frequency were manageable, ensuring I could maintain a healthy balance between school and sport. Plus, I valued the community feel in the club. From my visits and meeting fellow players, Excel seemed like a place where I could build lasting friendships and enjoy the sport more. Seeing the dedication and friendship among the players confirmed my choice. Interestingly, each club I almost joined brought something unique to the table—whether it was competitive spirit, special coaching techniques, or a welcoming atmosphere—but knowing what I needed for my growth helped clarify my decision. If you’re in a similar position, I highly recommend visiting potential clubs, trying to attend a practice or two, and speaking with coaches and players. Your ideal volleyball club should challenge you while making the experience enjoyable and fulfilling. For me, Excel hit that sweet spot, and it continues to be an exciting place to train and compete.
