Strong red flowers
The original Jatropha integerrima, or Peregrina, is in Cuba, a shrub with a bright red inflorescence, with its flowering properties for most of the year, enduring drought, making Thai people choose to plant flowers, propagate by planting branches in coconut flakes and coarse sand. A precaution is that all parts of this plant are poisonous, only flowering, inedible.
The main toxin in the Pattavian needle, called Curcin, is found in both latex and fruit. If ingested, it can cause nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain, and in the seed is the most concentrated amount of curcin.
