The interviewee entered Thailand on a tourist visa, which is a temporary stay and intends to return to the United States when the visa ends. It is not intended to settle or use Thailand as the center of life.

Nationality principle

The legal relationship between the person and the state makes the person a member of the state, has the rights, duties and protections of the state by law, as well as must comply with the laws of the state of nationality. Thailand establishes the principle of acquisition of nationality in the 1965 Nationality Act and as amended.

Having citizenship does not change simply because of traveling to live or travel abroad, but it does change according to the criteria established by the laws of each country, such as naturalization, or obtaining citizenship by birth.

Domicile

A place of residence where a person has a place of residence is an important source of subsistence, and a place that is considered by law to be the person's primary residence, not a place of temporary residence such as tourism, going to study, or traveling for short work.

Domicile is determined on the basis of settlement, daily living, occupation and intention to live in the premises is essentially Code of Law and Commerce, Article 37.
