Yesterday, March 2 is tomorrow, but I found out from the app that the eclipse of Regulus, a 1st magnitude star in the constellation Leo, can be seen almost all over the country, and that a total lunar eclipse can be seen on the night of March 3, so I posted it 🫡

3月に予定されている天体イベントの中でも、レグルス食と皆既月食は特に注目度が高いですね。私も天体観測が趣味なので、この2つのイベントは毎年楽しみにしています。特に、レグルス食はしし座の明るい星が月に隠される現象で、星好きにはたまらない瞬間です。2026年3月2日は全国ほぼ各地で観察可能ですが、時間帯や方角を正確に把握しておくことが観測成功の秘訣です。例えば、札幌では20時24分頃に潜入が始まるので、その前に周囲の明かりを落として準備をしておくと良いでしょう。 翌3日の皆既月食は特にドラマティックな光景が期待でき、20時頃から皆既食が始まり、最大食は20時33分ごろ。東京など関東では月の高度も高く、条件が良ければ良好な観測が可能です。ただ、曇りや雨天の場合は見るのが難しいため、当日は天気予報のチェックと屋外での防寒対策をしっかりして臨むことをおすすめします。 また、3月の満月は「芋虫月」と呼ばれていることも個人的に面白いと思っています。こうした月の呼び名に は自然や季節を感じさせる意味合いが込められているため、天文イベントをより楽しむ参考になります。私もこれまでに何度か見逃してしまった皆既月食ですが、天気と時間さえ合えば、夜空の神秘を身近に感じる良い機会です。皆さんもぜひ、夜空を見上げてみてはいかがでしょうか？
