A Day in my Life: Flu Edition
I sadly got sick this weekend and had to stay in and recover. On sick days I like to take extra care of myself so that when I’m fully recovered I can feel and look my best.
1. Started off my day with some vitamin c to help my body recover. Usually flu medicine doesn’t taste very good but surprisingly this was easy to drink.
2. I also practiced my eye makeup so I could enjoy some time off my phone.
3. I always love to use my LED mask. It has been a game changer with my skincare routine and hair care routine. Using it on your scalp will help promote healthy hair.
4. Dry brushing is an amazing way to have a beautiful complexion. A lot of times we focus on our face but it’s equally as important to take care of the rest of our body.
5. A quick self tan can instantly make you look healthy and sun kissed without the sun damage. If you have a cool undertone, I definitely recommend a violet based self tanner.
6. Obviously staying cozy in bed is essential to feeling better and enjoying some reality tv is just a little treat.
7. Moisturizing after washing off the self tan makes your skin look absolutely amazing. I always moisturize with shea butter.
8. I usually prefer to read a physical book but this time around I felt more inclined to listening to an audiobook. I’m currently listening to ‘The Mountain Is You’.
9. Finally ended my day with some tea and had an early night.
What are your favorite things to do while sick?
When you're down with the flu, self-care becomes essential for a quicker recovery and to boost your morale. A few top tips include starting your day with vitamin C to support your immune system. Surprising as it may sound, many flu medications come flavored, making them easier to take. Additionally, pampering yourself with a skincare routine, such as using an LED mask, can keep you feeling refreshed and boost your mood. Consider engaging in gentle but comforting activities. Eye makeup practice can help divert your attention from feeling unwell, while indulging in some dry brushing can improve your skin's texture and circulation, benefiting your overall appearance. For a hint of warmth, a self-tanning product can give a healthy glow without sun exposure. Staying cozy is crucial. Snuggling up with a soft blanket and indulging in your favorite TV shows can provide a much-needed escape. To nurture your skin, moisturize well after washing off any self-tanner. Products containing shea butter are fantastic for their hydrating properties. Lastly, if reading feels too taxing, try listening to audiobooks like 'The Mountain Is You' which can engage your mind without overwhelming it. Ending the day with a soothing cup of tea can also help in relaxation, paving the way for a restful night. Remember, the key to feeling better is combining comfort with self-care.
