First-class architect is one of the most difficult qualifications in Japan.

Anyone in the world of architecture knows that it is by no means an easy exam to pass.

Many people aim to pass while challenging many times.

I was 28 years old when I got my first-class architect.

Moreover, I was able to pass the exam once.

Of course, I wasn't particularly smart.

Rather, I quit industrial high school halfway through.

After that, I entered the field as a carpenter under my father and learned the work of architecture.

Day is work.

College at night.

It was never an easy environment.

Looking back now, I think there are several reasons why I was able to pass the first-class architect.

① I knew the construction site

I think the experience of being in the field as a carpenter was very great.

The drawing line becomes the actual building.

How are the pillars and beams assembled?

Because I saw such things on site, it was easy to understand the concept of drawings and structures.

Studying architecture deepens your understanding when you can imagine an actual building.

② Securing study time every day

I wasn't doing any special study methods.

I just decided to study every day.

Even after work, I always go to my desk.

I'll study even a little.

I think it was important to keep doing that.

I think that the "ability to continue" is more important than the special talent in the qualification exam.

③ Look at a lot of drawings

In the exam for an architect, understanding drawings is very important.

The ability to read drawings and the ability to draw.

I was trying to look at the drawings anyway.

Looking at the drawings of the building, you can see little by little what the designers are thinking.

Drawings are like the language of architecture.

Studying architecture becomes very interesting when you can understand those words.

④ I liked the job of architecture

After all, this might have been the biggest.

I liked the work of architecture.

I loved the moment the building was finished.

I liked to see the moment when the drawings took shape.

I think that's why I was able to continue studying.

Architecture is never an easy job.

You have a big responsibility and you have to keep studying.

Still, I think the reason why many people continue to do this work is because there is an interest in the work of architecture.

Architects study for life.

When I passed the first-class architect, I didn't think "this is the end."

I thought it was the real start from here.

The world of architecture is a very broad and profound world.

structure.

Equipment.

Construction.

The law.

There's a lot to learn.

And when I was 60 years old, I tried a new qualification again.

That is the facility design first class architect.

Architecture is a job that you learn for the rest of your life.

And I think that story lies within each and every engineer working in the field.
