I got this! So close to the 170s once more
Do close to bring back in the 170s, but it’s hot asf outside and I can’t do my normal exercises without risk of heat stroke!
I get to meet my new baby nephew this month and get to celebrate my nieces 3rd birthday! She’s so excited that I get to fly over to visit! She may monopolize my time so I can’t even visit with my sister (her mom) or hold her brother! I hope to get down to 175 before the trip in a few weeks!
Managing weight loss during hot weather can be a real challenge, especially when your usual exercise routines carry risks like heat stroke. From my own experience, I’ve found that adjusting workouts to cooler parts of the day like early morning or evening helps tremendously. Low-impact activities such as swimming or indoor exercises with a fan can also keep you moving without overheating. Incorporating lifestyle changes beyond just exercise is vital, too. Paying attention to hydration and nutrition supports your energy levels and weight goals. Since I was aiming to break into the 170-pound range again — getting down from about 190 lbs — I focused on balanced meals and mindful eating alongside scaled-back physical activity during the hottest days. Motivation also plays a critical role. Having meaningful events coming up, like visiting family and celebrating my niece’s birthday, gave me a tangible goal to work toward. It’s powerful to remind yourself why you’re doing the work, especially when the progress can seem slow or the environment makes it tough. Tracking progress is helpful, as visual evidence of small improvements — such as seeing numbers drop from 190.6 lbs downward — boosts confidence. Celebrate every step forward and adapt your goals to your current conditions. Remember, it’s not about perfection but consistency and smart adjustments. If you’re experiencing similar struggles balancing heat, exercise, and weight loss, consider these tips: exercise indoors or in shaded, cooler places; stay hydrated with water and electrolyte-rich drinks; eat nutrient-dense meals; and set clear, motivating goals tied to your personal life events. This approach helped me stay on track and feel positive even when the heat was intense.
