Post nap clairity. Some of y’all would rather feign powerlessness than admit that you are flawed and centered you performing « good » person than good being more easily accessible to more people. #politicstiktok
Reflecting on political engagement has made me realize how often we struggle to accept personal and collective flaws when it comes to leadership and voting. Many people seem to prefer acting powerless rather than acknowledging their imperfections, which can hinder authentic political progress. I've noticed that the conversation around voting sometimes portrays voters as passive participants, but in reality, every vote carries the weight of personal responsibility and character. It’s crucial to recognize that leadership is not about flawless individuals but rather about the willingness to admit flaws and strive for betterment. From my experience, people often get frustrated because they expect political figures or the system to be perfect, overlooking how political decisions and power dynamics deeply intertwine with human imperfections. The frustration grows when those demanding higher standards don’t hold themselves to the same accountability, fostering a cycle of gaslighting and sanctimony. Another important aspect is how political biases and misconceptions, such as those related to gender or ideology, influence the discourse. I've witnessed how misogyny, for example, can overshadow rational discussion and prevent collective growth. Engaging in politics requires vulnerability—accepting that none of us are flawless but that we all have a role in shaping a more accessible and fair society. Emphasizing good being accessible to more people, rather than merely appearing good, is essential for societal progress. Ultimately, the political journey is about collective self-awareness, a commitment to honest dialogue, and constructive action. By acknowledging the reality of our flaws and moving beyond performative gestures, we can foster more authentic and inclusive political participation.
