A perfect place to start your trip, where you can learn about recommended stores and history. The attempt to "lounge the city" with benches lined up on the street is also cool.
3. Maebashi Galleria

4. Arts Maebashi

5. SHIROIYA HOTEL
(Design: Sou Fujimoto)
A symbol of Maebashi revitalization. To be honest, the accommodation fee is not cheap, but it is worth more than that. Especially * * "Art tour limited to guests" * * is a must-see! There is also a cafe that can be used by non-guests, and the design where the city and people organically intersect is too perfect.

私も前橋の建築とアートスポットを訪れた経験がありますが、特にJINSパークの階段状のベンチはついつい長居してしまうほど快適でした。街の公園のように開放的な空間が、地域の人々の交流の場にもなっているのが印象的でした。 また、双子蒸留所＆Bentena Shopでは、地元の歴史を教えてもらいながら街歩きをスタートでき、一緒に前橋ソーダや地元ならではのホッピーを味わうのも旅の醍醐味です。路上に設置されたベンチでのんびり過ごす「街のラウンジ化」の試みは、商店街の活性化を体感できて新鮮でした。 まえばしガレリアの建築は、実際に見るとその軽やかな積み重ねが視覚的にも楽しく、日常の中にアートを感じられる設計に感動しました。こぢんまりとしつつもヒューマンスケールで心地よく、子どもから大人まで楽しめる場所だと感じました。 アーツ前橋はもともと商業施設だった建物をリノベーションした美術館ですが、建築の美しさだけでなく、展示内容も充実していてゆったり過ごせるスポットです。併設のカフェやショップでアートを日常的に楽しめるのも嬉しいポイント。 白井屋ホテルは少し高価ですが、宿泊者限定のアートツアーが特におすすめです。ホテルの内外に点在する作品を巡りながら、前橋再生の象徴的な空間を体験でき、宿泊しなくても利用できるカフェでのくつろぎも素敵でした。 最後にRK by laluでのディナーは、無骨なコンクリート壁面に並ぶレコードジャケットが独特の雰囲気を醸し出し、フュージョン料理とともに前橋の夜をクリエイティブに締めくくってくれます。 前橋は単なる観光地を超え、地元を巻き込んだ『街のラウンジ化』や『アートでまちづくり』の熱気が伝わってくる街でした。建築やアートに興味がある方は、ぜひ次の旅の候補に加えてみてください。街歩きの際はぜひ「街のマップ」を手に入れて、地元の人との交流も楽しんでみてくださいね。
