🔥 This may not be surprising, because each organization has a different context, the type of Product, the team structure, the business goals, and the level of complexity of the UX / UI tasks required.

1️⃣ The first point is that many organizations still misunderstand the UI Designer / UX / UI Designer.

.

Many companies are still unclear between

"UXUI Designer" and "Graphic Designer"

.

Some get UX / UI Designer in.

But the real work is 80% graphic design.

.

Some that use UX / UI Designer location names

But Scope work is closer to BD, PO or Project Coordinator than Product design work.

.

UX / UI barely really touches on User Flow, Journey, Research, Usability or Product Experience.

.

This is where the UX / UI role was misunderstood in the first place.

Because UX / UI Design is not equal to Graphic Design.

If the organization still views UX / UI as just a pretty screen maker,

When AI makes simple and beautiful screens faster,

This position is easily replaced. Anyone can do it.

2️⃣ Context of Product, Team and Organization

Some products may not require very complex UX / UI.

Such as landing pages, CRM, Internal Tools or Pattern-based systems are already obvious.

In this context, using the original Component, using the original Design System, or having an Engineer use AI to do some of the UI may be sufficient and reasonable.

So it's not strange if an organization or company chooses to reduce this cost...

But if Product has to compete with user experience,

There are complex Flow, there are multiple User groups, have to reduce Drop-off, have to increase Conversion, or have to create a new Value different from its competitors.

The UX / UI task will no longer be just about keeping the screen pretty.

But it is understanding the user, understanding the Product, understanding Business and designing experiences that really help the Product reach its goals.

So the problem may not be that

"UX / UI Designer Essential or Unnecessary."

But does the organization understand to what extent their product needs UX / UI and where designers should create value for the business?

3️⃣ AI does not replace all UX / UI tasks.

In the UI and AI angle.

.

✅ AI helps create Layout, Component, Prototype or UI screens from the original Pattern much faster.

❎, but deciding which UI suits users, Brand, Design System, Visual Hierarchy, and the actual context of Product also requires "humans" to think and decide.

In the UX angle with AI.

.

✅ AI is a tool to summarize data, question questions, draft User Flow, preliminary analysis, or help find ideas faster.

❎, but understanding real users, job page issues, Product context, human behavior, Flow, usability, and Business-oriented decision-making are also things that are not easy to replace by AI.

👀 The future of UX / UI may not be just UX / UI alone, but it will be.

UX / UI + AI + Business

Because in the days when AI creates screens faster,

The value of a Designer is not just how beautiful it is to make a UI.

But that

How deep the problem is understood, how real the user is understood, how well the experience is designed, and how much results the design work produces for Product and Business.

AI may reduce the importance of a Designer doing just a bespoke job.
