Binding 13 & Keeping 13 🏉 Review

I knew nothing going into this. Nothing. So much so the only thought I had of it was it took place in high school. Mind you I thought an American one. So to my surprise there was an entire glossary of Irish slang and I just lit up with excitement ! I decided to review both as one because it felt that way for me. When I finished book 1 I ran for 2 at midnight. I literally jumped off the couch and RAN to start it immediately.

The first two books in the Boys Of Tommen series, follows two teens, Johnny and Shannon, with completely opposite lifestyles. Once they meet something just clicks, and they can’t seem to keep away from each other. The entire structure, dynamics, and real life situations were reminiscent to 90s high school films, like Cruel Intentions and Jaw Breaker, that I was obsessed with growing up. It was also extremely nostalgic to me since I went to high school around the same time this story takes place.

The two POVs were done to perfection getting into the minds and thought process of expectation, trauma, and trust, when you are that young and fully vulnerable to the world. The lengths that Johnny would go to protect and be a leader was so intense and admirable never with ego, and I was obsessed. I am a former foster youth so Shannons story really tug at my heart. Her character growth hit me like a ton of bricks. I was so happy with the way she eventually finds her confidence. I laughed so hard I cried, I cried so hard you would think I knew them all personally. Im so invested and I can’t wait to continue this series.

... Read moreStepping into the world of the 'Boys of Tommen' series with 'Binding 13' and 'Keeping 13' felt like coming home to a truly special story. For those wondering about the 'keeping 13 genre', these novels firmly sit in the contemporary Young Adult romance category, but they bring so much more to the table than your typical high school drama. The setting in an Irish high school, complete with rugby culture and unique slang, immediately sets it apart. One of the most compelling aspects is the 'is binding 13 dual pov' narrative. Getting inside the heads of both 'Johnny binding 13' (Johnny Kavanagh) and 'Shannon binding 13' (Shannon Lynch) allows for such a rich tapestry of emotion and understanding. You witness their individual struggles and triumphs, as well as the beautiful, complicated evolution of 'shannon and johnny binding 13's' relationship, making you feel deeply invested in every moment. It’s not just a love story; it’s a journey of self-discovery for both. 'Johnny Kavanagh binding 13' is truly a character who leaves a mark. His protective nature and leadership, often displayed without ego, are incredibly admirable. I loved seeing glimpses of his striking attractiveness and dimples, which the OCR text reminds us of, adding to his charm. He's the kind of character you root for, especially in moments where he's there for Shannon, offering emotional support or just a gentle touch to her hair and chin, as described in the quotes. For those looking for 'johnny kavanagh binding 13 fanart', his strong yet tender portrayal definitely sparks the imagination! Shannon Lynch's journey, on the other hand, is a powerful testament to resilience. As someone who personally connects with stories of foster youth, her character growth hit me hard. From vulnerability to finding her voice and confidence, her arc is incredibly inspiring. She's not just the girl with beautiful blue eyes, but a force of strength and determination. Many readers, like myself, might even have their own 'shannon binding 13 fancast' ideas, perhaps even picturing someone like 'india eisley shannon lynch' for her role. Regarding 'binding 13 books in order', 'Binding 13' and 'Keeping 13' are the first two books in the 'Boys of Tommen' series. While they are distinct novels, they really tell one continuous story of Johnny and Shannon. So, if you're asking 'is keeping 13 better than binding 13', I'd say they are two essential halves of a whole, each deepening the experience. You absolutely need to read them together to get the full impact of their intense feelings and the peace they find with each other. The phrase 'My binding 13' from the OCR perfectly encapsulates the profound connection they share, a sense of belonging and unwavering support. If you're looking for a contemporary YA romance that combines sport, deep emotional arcs, and unforgettable characters, this series set in 'Tommen College binding 13' is an absolute gem. The potential for 'binding 13 annotations' is huge, as there are so many poignant quotes and moments worth highlighting. The overall 'binding 13 meaning' for me is about finding your person, your home, and your strength, even when the world around you is chaotic.
