✨Ever since I saw @paulalafferty_writes tell her back story on how she came about to write this book, that sold me first before even knowing much about it. Then, hearing it’s an Outlander/The Princess Bride time slip adventure; this had me dreaming of pub day ! The book itself is so gorgeous, I just LOVE a green cover. It has stunning spredges and I’m obsessed with the old world but modern cover design. Beyond excited to read this.
You know that feeling when a highly anticipated book finally lands on your doorstep? That's exactly how I felt when this beauty arrived! Seriously, the hype around Paula Lafferty's 'The Once and Future Queen' is real, and after seeing this stunning finished copy, I totally get it. First off, let's talk about that cover! I'm a huge fan of dark green, and this hardcover is just exquisite. The front features a captivating woman in historical attire, beautifully centered within a festive wreath. It's adorned with delicate lights, pops of red and yellow flowers, and subtle white accents that give it such a magical, old-world feel. Flipping it over, the spine boasts a striking red sword design, woven gracefully amidst intricate floral patterns. And the endpapers? Oh my goodness! They're a rich, intricate pattern of green foliage, vibrant red flowers, and if you look closely, you can spot a whimsical unicorn and a little rabbit – pure enchantment! The gold design on the front is another detail that caught my eye, featuring a regal crown, a mysterious hourglass, and elegant shoes, all hinting at the adventurous journey within. The author, Paula Lafferty, has mentioned her inspiration, and hearing her backstory made me even more invested in this world. It’s described as an 'Outlander meets The Princess Bride' time-slip adventure, which immediately piqued my interest. Imagine the historical romance, the witty banter, and the thrilling escapades all rolled into one – that’s what I’m hoping for! This isn't just a book; it's an experience, even before you turn the first page. The attention to detail, from the color palette to the spredges (those painted edges, for anyone wondering!), makes it a true collector's item. It feels like a story steeped in history and magic, promising a journey where love and destiny intertwine in unexpected ways. I honestly can't wait for its release on December 16, 2025, and to finally get lost in the pages of 'The Once and Future Queen.' Has anyone else heard about this book or fallen in love with its cover? Let me know your thoughts!
