There are so many moments where I felt overwhelmed by thoughts and worries that seemed beyond my ability to manage. I found immense comfort in adopting the practice of consciously choosing peace instead of reacting to every troubling thought or situation. One practical way I embraced this was by reflecting on Psalm 46:10: 'Be still and know that I am God.' This verse reminds us that surrendering our worries does not mean giving up but rather trusting a higher plan beyond our understanding. I began to remind myself daily that not every problem needs my control, not every hurt needs my reaction, and not every thought requires my attention. This shift in mindset helped reduce anxiety and fostered a deeper sense of inner calm. Additionally, walking by faith instead of fear became a guiding principle during uncertain times. Putting faith over fear involves actively choosing to believe that God’s timing and plan are perfect, even when results aren’t immediate or clear. It’s about trusting that things will unfold as they should, which allowed me to focus my energy on meaningful actions instead of unproductive worrying. For anyone struggling with control issues or stress from life's unpredictability, I recommend starting small by identifying areas you tend to obsess over and consciously praying or meditating to release them to God. This practice gradually built resilience in me and helped cultivate peace that persists regardless of external circumstances. Ultimately, releasing what you cannot control is not about passivity but about embracing a calmer, more centered approach to life guided by faith and trust.
