⭐another rant ^^⭐
Sometimes, as a teenager, school and life can feel overwhelmingly stressful. I’ve noticed that many of us don’t want to end up in the school office because it often feels like being there means punishment, not support. It’s frustrating when adults dismiss our struggles by saying, "You don’t know real stress yet," or telling us to "stop being dramatic." That only makes us feel unheard and more isolated. One thing I really appreciate is having places or moments where we can just breathe and calm down — not being sent to the office, but perhaps a calm corner or a chill zone where we can decompress. Sometimes, counseling isn’t enough or doesn’t feel like the right fit because opening up to teachers can be awkward or uncomfortable. It would be so helpful to have spaces where we can relax without judgment. Also, being a kid can mean making mistakes or acting out occasionally; it’s part of learning and growing. We just hope adults can be kind and patient instead of always quick to yell or punish. A calm voice telling us what’s wrong, rather than shouting, makes a huge difference. A little kindness goes a long way. Outside of school, life can throw curveballs too. It’s normal to get frustrated, and sometimes humor helps me cope—like sharing the ridiculous and embarrassing moments that happen daily. For example, a moment when something embarrassing happens at home, and later we laugh it off with friends or family, helps ease anxiety and reminds me I’m not alone. Overall, this rant is really about wanting understanding and compassion from the adults in our lives. Sometimes we’re tough on the outside but need a safe space where we can express ourselves freely and be accepted. A supportive environment helps us handle the stress and anxiety that come with growing up today. So if you’re an adult reading this, please remember to be gentle and listen—we need that more than you might realize.
