Homemade beef broth made by me

First time making home made beef broth and this how I did it.

After an unexpected visit to the ER, I was diagnosed with a diverticulitis flare up (and two kidney stones but that’s another story). I researched some of the best home made remedies and beef broth came up as number one.

The benefits to home made bone broth are insanely good.

- I first went to my local butcher and asked for soup bones.

- I wasn’t sure how many to get so I ordered $10 worth .

- I first roasted them in the over for some extra flavor.

- then I let them cook in the crock pot with water, seasonings and I added a bit of celery.

- after removing all of the fat and lose pieces I strained this and put it in the fridge.

- the top layer is the tallow that I want to purify into lotion.

Any tips or suggestions on how to enhance the flavor or purify the tallow will be appreciated :)#holistichealth #healing #bonebroth #bonebrothbenefits #whippedtallowbalm

... Read moreMaking homemade beef broth is not just a culinary venture; it's also a nourishing remedy for various health concerns such as diverticulitis. Bone broth is rich in collagen, amino acids, and minerals that promote gut healing and overall wellness. For optimal health benefits, use high-quality ingredients. Start by choosing a mix of bones, such as marrow, knuckle, and grass-fed beef bones, which can enhance the nutrient profile of your broth. Roasting the bones before simmering adds depth of flavor, so be sure to take the time to do this step. Cooking the broth low and slow is key—aim for a simmer of at least 12-24 hours to extract maximum nutrients. Adding aromatic vegetables like onions, garlic, and carrots can not only boost the flavor but also provide additional vitamins. Consider adding apple cider vinegar to help extract minerals from the bones. Once cooled, separate the fat, which can be used for other purposes like cooking or skin care, and store the broth in jars for later use. Enjoy this delicious, nutrient-dense broth as a warm drink on its own or incorporate it into soups, sauces, and stews for an extra health boost.

Thank you for sharing this, making bone broth today :). Render down the tallow with about 1 inch in the crock pot. Scrape off the top tallow leaving particles off, add in essential oil like lavender and you have balm. You can also add an oil like jojoba or castor or olive but we dont. I hope this makes since :)
