Also, the zoo spans a huge area, so wearing comfortable shoes is vital — you'll be covering many miles without even realizing it. Bringing your own snacks and water is another smart move. Food inside the zoo can be expensive, and there are plenty of picnic spots to relax and recharge during your visit. Don’t forget to try the Skyfari aerial tram ride, which offers an unmatched panoramic view of both the zoo and the San Diego cityscape. It also saves time when navigating between different areas, especially if you’re trying to catch shows or feeding schedules. Finally, downloading the official San Diego Zoo app is highly recommended. It helps plan your day efficiently, provides details on animal shows, feeding times, and map navigation. This way, you won’t miss out on the highlights and can enjoy a smooth, stress-free trip.
