Why did my cycle come 3 weeks early ?

I just had my cycle. I had my ovulation week, and then the next week I was woken up at 2am to excruciating cramps and bleeding extremely heavy bleeding. My family has history of painful periods and I used to have them but I’ve learned what my trigger foods are and have had very manageable periods for years now. My boyfriend kept saying that it was too early to have had a miscarriage, but I told him a woman could have one within the first couple of weeks.

I went to the ER and they did numerous test. (Real mad no one warned me what a vaginal Ultrasound was 😶). But I wasn’t pregnant, there were no seen cysts. My mom thinks it was a fibroid that passed. The ER told me to find a gynecologist to talk to due to my family history (my grandma, aunt and mom all got hysterectomies in their early forties/ later thirties because of cysts, fibroids, thyroid disease)

What’s even crazier is apparently my grandma and mom have been having weird dreams to the point my grandma had asked if I was pregnant because the dreams represent birth. My grandma is concerned that I’m going to have to have a hysterectomy too young and wants me to hurry up and have children.

I made an appointment for June 13, but my period has never came 3 weeks early and i’m concerned.

Help?

... Read moreA cycle arriving early, particularly by three weeks, can stem from various factors. Hormonal fluctuations are a common reason; you may experience changes in estrogen and progesterone levels due to stress, illness, or significant lifestyle changes such as weight loss or gain. Conditions like polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) or thyroid disorders can also disrupt your menstrual cycle. It's essential to pay attention to accompanying symptoms, such as excessive bleeding or severe pain, that may indicate a more significant issue requiring medical intervention. Your family's medical history, including trends of painful periods or surgeries, can also provide helpful context for understanding your own cycle. In addition to hormonal issues, lifestyle factors such as irregular sleep patterns, diet, and exercise can significantly impact your menstrual cycle. If you've made recent changes to your routine, these could play a role in your early cycle. Ultimately, if your early period is a one-time occurrence, it may not warrant concern. However, consistent changes should be evaluated by a healthcare professional who can conduct necessary tests and provide personalized guidance. It's advisable to keep track of your cycles and symptoms leading up to your appointment with a gynecologist so you can discuss your concerns in detail.

At 42 weeks I will NOT choose an induction.
Here’s why! No matter how “past due” you are, your baby isn’t! Your baby and body know exactly how long it needs. If you get an induction at 42, 43, or 44 weeks it’s still EARLY! There can be miscalculations on the due date. Your baby may need more time for their lungs to develop.
