... Read moreStepping into the world of truck driving has always been a dream, and now I’m making it a reality – as a short girl trucker! It’s an exciting, yet sometimes daunting, prospect. There’s a certain thrill that comes with the idea of commanding a powerful semi-truck, especially when you’re not exactly towering over the steering wheel. But believe me, what I lack in height, I make up for in determination and a passion for the open road. One of the first things that comes to mind when you think of a 'short truck driver' is the practicalities. How do I reach the pedals? Can I see over the dashboard? These are valid questions, and honestly, they've been some of my initial concerns too. The standard setup of a semi-truck cabin isn’t always designed with someone of my stature in mind. It means a lot of seat adjustments – pulling it all the way forward, tilting the backrest just right, sometimes even adding an extra cushion for that perfect vantage point. Pedal extenders are also a lifesaver for ensuring I have full control, especially during those crucial braking moments. Setting up my interior view of the truck cabin is crucial for safety and comfort. It’s not just about reaching; it’s about having clear visibility of the road ahead and around me. My mirrors become my best friends, perfectly angled to cover every blind spot. You’d be surprised how much you can customize your space to make it feel like home, even on the go. Imagine cruising down the highway, the world unfolding through the windshield, seeing those endless roads and distant buildings – it's an incredible feeling of freedom and responsibility all at once. The experience of being a semi-truck driver inside the cabin, driving on the highway, is truly unique. It's a different kind of independence out here. Every day brings new scenery, new challenges, and a sense of accomplishment. While I’m just starting this journey, I'm already learning so much about myself and the incredible community of truckers. There's a camaraderie on the road that’s really inspiring. It’s not just about moving cargo; it’s about connecting with a lifestyle that values resilience and self-reliance. I’m excited to share more about my experiences, from the ergonomic adjustments I make to the incredible views I get to witness daily. Being a short girl in a big rig might sound unconventional to some, but to me, it's about proving that with passion and the right adaptations, anyone can chase their dreams, no matter their size. This is just the beginning of my adventures on the highway, and I can't wait to see where the road takes me next.
