Everything Bagel Philly Cheesesteak Breakfast Sand

Instead of a classic hoagie, I switched it up and made a breakfast version using an everything bagel, fluffy eggs, melty cheese, and seasoned steak. It’s savory, cheesy, and perfect for mornings when you want something filling and different!

🍽️ INGREDIENTS:

• 1 everything bagel

• 1/2 lb shaved steak or chopped beef

• 2 eggs

• 1/4 onion (sliced)

• Cheese (American, provolone, or cheese sauce 🔥)

• Salt & pepper

• Garlic powder

• Butter or oil

👩🏽‍🍳 INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Cook steak in a skillet until browned

2. Add onions and cook until soft

3. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder

4. In another pan, scramble eggs until soft and fluffy

5. Toast your everything bagel with butter

6. Layer:

👉 steak + onions

👉 eggs

👉 cheese (let it melt 🔥)

7. Close sandwich and serve HOT

Read moreIf you're looking to elevate your breakfast game, swapping out the traditional hoagie roll for a toasted everything bagel gives this Philly cheesesteak twist a delightful crunch and burst of flavor from the bagel's seasoning. I found that using shaved steak or thinly chopped beef works best to ensure the steak cooks quickly and stays tender. When seasoning, a simple combo of salt, pepper, and garlic powder really brings out the rich flavor of the beef without overpowering it. One tip I’d recommend is to cook your onions until they turn translucent and slightly caramelized. This adds a subtle sweetness that balances well with the savory steak and the slightly salty bagel topping. For the eggs, scrambling them soft and fluffy makes the sandwich moist and creamy, which is essential to complement the texture of the meat and cheese. Cheese choice is also key. American or provolone melts beautifully, but if you want a more indulgent version, cheese sauce is a game changer. It coats every bite with creamy goodness. Don’t rush the toasting of your everything bagel—it should be perfectly golden and buttery to provide the right texture contrast. Lastly, I suggest assembling the sandwich while the ingredients are hot so the cheese melts perfectly over the steak and eggs. Serve immediately for a satisfying, filling breakfast that’s a savory homage to the Philly cheesesteak but with a fun breakfast twist. Perfect to fuel your mornings or impress guests with something different yet familiar.
