Another thing that helped me was staying connected with friends and family through phone calls or video chats. It’s comforting to share your feelings and still be part of the celebration virtually. Also, keeping hydrated and nourishing yourself with comforting but healthy foods can boost recovery—think warm soups and herbal teas. Lastly, try to keep a lighthearted perspective on the situation. When I say "literally slaying and dying at the same time," I mean embracing the humor in an unfortunate situation. Laughing at the craziness of being sick on Easter helped me stay positive and reminded me that it's okay to have imperfect moments.
