... Read moreHey amazing mamas! Since you’re here to get to know me, let’s dive a little deeper into what real life looks like as a working mom of three, and how I try to keep my sparkle amidst the beautiful chaos. It’s not always glamorous, but I’ve learned that finding your confidence, your "sexy" if you will, isn’t about fitting into a certain mold, it’s about embracing who you are, right now.
When I look back at photos, like that one from when I was pregnant, smiling and walking arm-in-arm with my husband in that long dress out in the grassy landscape, I remember feeling so many emotions. There’s this incredible joy and anticipation, but also the worries about how your body is changing, how your life will shift, and if you’ll ever feel like "you" again. Fast forward through three pregnancies, and let me tell you, those feelings only multiply!
For me, the journey to feeling confident in my "mom bod" has been all about shifting my perspective. It’s not about getting back to some pre-baby ideal; it’s about appreciating what my body has done and continues to do. It grew three incredible humans! That’s powerful, and that’s inherently beautiful.
Here are a few things that have really helped me feel more connected to myself and my partner, even when I'm knee-deep in laundry and toddler tantrums:
Prioritize Small Moments for YOU: Whether it's five minutes of quiet coffee in the morning, a quick walk outdoors, or listening to your favorite podcast, these small acts of self-care are game-changers. They remind you that you're an individual, not just a caretaker.
Date Nights (Even At Home): My husband and I make a conscious effort to have regular date nights. Sometimes it’s just ordering takeout after the kids are asleep, lighting some candles, and having an uninterrupted conversation. Connecting with your partner as more than just co-parents is vital for keeping that spark alive.
Dress for Confidence, Not trends: I’ve learned to choose clothes that make me feel good *now*. If that’s a comfy, chic top and jeans, or a flowy dress that makes me feel elegant, I go for it. Comfort and confidence go hand-in-hand.
Movement That Feels Good: Forget punishing workouts. I focus on movement that brings me joy – dancing with my girls, going for a nature walk with the family, or an online yoga session. It’s about feeling strong and energized, not just burning calories.
Talk About It: Honestly, I talk to my husband about my insecurities and my triumphs. Being vulnerable and open strengthens our bond and helps me feel seen and loved for exactly who I am.
Motherhood is a wild ride, and it absolutely transforms you. But that transformation doesn't mean losing your identity or your inner "sexy." It means redefining it. It's about finding strength, joy, and confidence in your new skin, celebrating your journey, and recognizing the incredible, radiant woman you are. Let’s uplift each other and remember that a confident, happy mom is truly the sexiest mom of all!
