DC Wharf Fish Market — Virginia Trip Day 5

DC Wharf Fish Market — Virginia Trip Day 5

Rainy day = cozy seafood feast at home 🦀🌧️

Day 5 was supposed to be a rainy one, so we decided to keep it simple and stay indoors. Before the rain hit, we made a quick trip to The Wharf DC Fish Market to grab fresh crabs. It was a cold morning on the pier, and I warmed myself up with a hot, delicious clam chowder.

Back at home, we turned the whole day into a family crab feast. My sister-in-law made stir-fried crab the Cambodian way — with sauces, fresh chiles, lime, and plenty of garlic. It came out spicy, tangy, and so flavorful. We also made steamed crab, marinated raw crab (which we used to make papaya salad), and added steak with sauce to the spread.

What started as a gloomy, rainy day became one of the coziest meals of the trip — eating, laughing, and bonding with family.
