Nail biting
Ever since I could remember I’ve had a nail biting problem. If I feel stressed, anxious, overthinking, overstimulated I bite my nails. Without me even realizing sometimes I catch myself biting my nails. About 2 weeks ago I decided I don’t want to bite my nails anymore, I want to break that habit and this is my two week progress so far.
I’ll be checking in show my progress either weekly or monthly but I really want this bad habit to end.
Wish me luck!
Nail biting, or onychophagia, is a common yet often overlooked issue that many people face. It can stem from anxiety, stress, and even boredom. Understanding why we bite our nails is crucial for breaking this habit. Strategies like mindfulness, behavioral changes, and stress management techniques can significantly help. For instance, keeping your nails trimmed and using bitter-tasting nail polish are practical steps to deter biting. Supporting yourself with a community can also foster encouragement and accountability. As you progress on your nail transformation journey, remember that it's okay to have setbacks—what matters is your determination to keep trying. With consistency and the right tools, you can overcome nail biting and achieve healthier nails over time. Stay committed, and don't hesitate to seek professional advice if needed.
