Vulnerability

🤍 My Story: I had my first child at 24 and my second at 28, raising both as a single mom. At 33, I had my third child, got married, and also experienced the deep loss of my father. At 36, I separated from my husband and lost my best friend and sister—a year marked by heartbreak. At 37, I bought a house, standing strong as a single mom of three. Now at 38, I am living life a day at a time with grace, beautifully embracing every moment.

🤍 How I Felt: It wasn’t easy, but I learned how strong and capable I could be. There were times with such a mix of joy and deep pain, I was building a family while grieving one of the most important people in my life. I went through a separation and lost my sister, which was absolutely heartbreaking. Grief hit me hard that year, and I felt so alone, life had shifted again in a big way. I bought a house something I’m incredibly proud of and kept showing up for my kids as a single mom. After everything I’ve been through, I’m in a space where life means so much more and the little things matter the most. There’s beauty in the peace I’ve found, even after so much pain.

🤍 My Takeaways:

Resilience through adversity – I’ve faced deep loss, heartbreak, and major life changes, yet I’ve continued to show up for my children and for myself.

Growth through pain – Every challenge, from raising kids alone to dealing with grief, shaped me into someone wiser, stronger, and more grounded.

Joy is still possible – Even after everything, I’ve found peace and beauty in my life. That’s a powerful reminder that healing is real, and happiness can bloom in the aftermath of struggle.

You define your path – Despite being dealt some tough hands, I made bold decisions—buying a house, raising three kids on my own, and building a life that reflects my values and courage.

... Read moreThe profound connection between nature and mental health has been a topic of increasing interest. Recent studies highlight the therapeutic benefits of spending time by the ocean—its calming sounds and vibrant scenery can significantly reduce stress and anxiety. For many individuals facing profound loss or significant life changes, the beach offers a unique escape that encourages reflection and healing. Engaging with nature, particularly beach environments, allows for a sense of freedom and tranquility that supports mental recovery. Activities such as walking on the sand, listening to waves, and simply absorbing the sunlight can trigger feelings of happiness and stability. Additionally, mindfulness practices at the beach can enhance this connection. Deep breathing while gazing at the ocean can ground one's thoughts, promoting emotional balance and clarity. It also inspires creativity, allowing individuals to express their journeys through writing, art, or photography, further strengthening their healing process. Combining these elements—nature, mindfulness, and creative expression—sheds light on a holistic approach to mental health recovery, reminding us that healing is an ongoing journey that thrives through resilience and authenticity.
