Apothecary diaries surprised me in being a story about women in various different situations and given the nuance I don’t always see in shows and movies. They are written with depth and explore various types of deep connections from love, friendship, familial (good and bad). I thought this show was only about jinshi and maomao and I was so glad to see it was a garden of different characters.
