Men call me pessimistic but I’m just realistic
My biggest reason for being childfree is a full on phobia of pregnancy and childbirth. The thought of a baby rearranging my organs, wrecking my already wonky spine, causing incontinence, and the brutal tearing? It sounds like a nightmare not a “blessing.”
Add postpartum depression risks, society’s absurd “snap back” standards, and the fear my partner might lose attraction all while I become a 24/7 caregiver? No thank you. I’ve worked too hard to love my body and mental health to gamble it all.
Men call me pessimistic but I’m just being realistic. They’ll never face this physical/mental toll. Even some women doesn't care and I’m baffled, how do you not fear the barbaric reality of it? If perpetuating the species is so important, why haven’t we made it less terrifying?
