Confinement nanny review

Hello everyone! :)

Dedicating my first and only post to my amazing confinement nanny who has made my postpartum journey thus far an amazing one!

I’ve seen plenty of confinement nanny horror stories online and thought I’d share my own cause my nanny deserves this exposure for such a job well done!

If you’re on the fence about hiring a nanny, I would strongly recommend it! There are plenty of ways to hire a nanny- either through an agency or privately. My nanny has been in the business for many many years. She started off in an agency but later came out on her own and she has been getting jobs via word of mouth ever since! Here are some reasons why I really enjoyed having my privately hired nanny around- I even tried to extend her contract to 3 months but she was already booked :( Please reach out to me to get her contact if you are keen!

1. I could sleep in peace every night knowing that my baby was in good hands. She woke up each and every time (even quicker than daddy and I) to take care of the baby once he cried. My night pumps were never delayed as she would make sure the parts were washed and prepared for the next timing!

2. She was knowledgeable but never pushy. I’ve heard of Nannies forcing their opinions or giving passive aggressive remarks when there are disagreements. My nanny was super respectful and provided her opinions and advice but never forced it upon me and for that I was very grateful!

3. Her food is amazing she cooks so quickly! My nanny changes her menu accordingly to what I like and always tries to find new food to keep my appetite running! I am very picky with my food and thought I would starve through confinement but her food is amazing and it’s really one of the things I’ll miss the most

4. She is organised. It’s a blessing to have her tirelessly keep track of every wet diaper, bowel movement and feed. She also helps me track the breastmilk pump timing- ensuring that milk is stored when necessary and makes sure that no milk goes to waste! I can rest my mind knowing exactly how well fed and hydrated my baby is :)

5. Great conversationalist. Breastfeeding can be very boring after some time but my nanny would always keep me company and share her stories with me and that made time pass really quickly!

6. Genuinely loves babies. I would think I’d be hard to love and care for a baby that’s not yours 24/7 but throughout these 2 months I could really tell how much she loved her job and loved children! She would always make sure to sing to him, play with him and talk to him everyday :’)

Sad to say that all good things must come to an end :’( I will definitely miss having my nanny around and would definitely hire her again should I decide to have another child!

Psa this is completely not sponsored! Am posting this out of goodwill as I am genuinely glad to have had her as my nanny!

*update/ if you would like her contact please reach out to me via Instagram (meatygoldfish)! Having issues with the messaging function in Lemon8 🙏🏻

... Read moreChoosing the right confinement nanny is crucial for new mothers navigating the postpartum period, especially in busy places like Singapore where there are many agencies and individual nannies available. From my personal experience, hiring a nanny privately through word of mouth can sometimes provide a more personalized and reliable service than going through an agency, which may vary in quality and approach. When considering a confinement nanny, it's important to look for someone knowledgeable but respectful—someone who offers advice without pressure, as I found invaluable. The emotional support during breastfeeding and baby care, like tracking feeding and diaper changes, helps new moms rest better and feel more confident. Many mums have shared concerns or mixed reviews about agencies like PEM confinement nanny agency; hence, validating a nanny's credibility and experience through direct recommendations is highly recommended. Also, assessing a nanny’s cooking skills and adaptability to your dietary preferences can greatly enhance your appetite and well-being during confinement. I found that a nanny who genuinely loves babies and engages with them through singing, playing, and talking not only supports the baby’s development but also lightens the mother’s mental load. Extending a nanny’s contract beyond the usual period could be a good idea if both parties agree, to maintain continuity and comfort. Lastly, while some reviews mention cons such as missed nurturing moments or conflicting opinions, my nanny balanced professionalism with warmth perfectly. If you’re new to confinement nannies, seek honest customer feedback and don’t hesitate to ask for referrals. Hiring a nanny could transform your postpartum experience from overwhelming to wonderful.
