Okay, Descendants fans, I've been absolutely buzzing with creative energy lately, especially with all the talk around Descendants 4 and what new characters might join the story! I'm constantly dreaming up new VKs, and I just had to share one of my latest creations: Rhys Hearts, the daughter of none other than the infamous Queen of Hearts! Creating OCs is such a fun way to explore the Descendants universe, and Rhys has quickly become a favorite. Imagine a character with the fiery spirit of her mother, but with her own unique twist. I envisioned Rhys as a 16-year-old with an ENTJ personality type – she's driven, strategic, but definitely has that explosive behavior that can get her into trouble. Her villainous tendencies are undeniable, but there's also a deep struggle within her, as hinted by her chosen theme songs like Halsey's 'Control' and Demi Lovato's 'Warrior.' It's like she acknowledges her troubles and vows to try to become a better person, but that 'bad reputation' is hard to shake! When designing Rhys, I pictured her with a distinct punk fashion sense, and for a face claim, someone like Sadie Sink felt absolutely perfect to capture her fierce yet vulnerable essence. Thinking about how her parentage, the Queen of Hearts, would influence her journey on the Isle or even in Auradon is fascinating. Would she embrace her villain role fully, or would she try to carve her own path, perhaps even becoming a central figure if we were to imagine Descendants 5 or 6? It's all part of the fun of character making! For anyone out there wanting to create their own Descendants OCs, I have a few tips! First, pick your parentage! Will they be the child of a classic villain like Maleficent or Captain Hook, or a hero like Cinderella or Belle? This choice sets the stage for their whole story. Then, dive deep into their personality. Give them an MBTI, think about their strengths and weaknesses, and how they would react in different situations. Don't forget their look – fashion can say so much about a character! And finally, give them a compelling backstory. What are their goals? What challenges do they face? Are they destined to follow their parents' footsteps, or will they forge a new destiny? It’s truly inspiring to see all the incredible fan-made Descendants characters out there, and I hope this gives you some ideas for your own creations. The anticipation for Descendants 4 and knowing there might be new faces joining the cast just makes me want to create even more! Who knows, maybe one day our OCs will be part of the official canon!
