DC local here! the DC metro is unreliable, i wouldn’t recommend it. Honestly you’re better off walking. Also there are more museums than just the NGA, we have like three smithsonian’s all in a row on Constitution ave and two air and space museums. One in DC and another out by Dulles airport.
