A Poem to My Younger Self: “Hey, Cammy!”👶🏽❤️🥹

I decided to write a poem to my younger self and do some trauma dumping today. I always had dreams of talking to my younger self. She had so much spark & joy in her heart! The desire to hug her, let her cry in my arms, and protect her! I remember being a little child feeling like it was the end of the world. Getting SA’d by family members at this age with no one believing me was discouraging! Life was so hard growing up not knowing what was wrong with me and later getting diagnosed with ADHD & Social Anxiety as an adult really blew me out of the water! I’m so proud of my younger self for not giving up and not destroying myself!

This was a very therapeutic way to heal through my trauma to remind myself that if I made it this far, I can get through anything! 💪🏽

Thank you guys for listening! I’ll have Part Two for you very soon! #safespace #childhoodtrauma #vulnerable #traumadumping #healing #lemon8challenge #emotional #unfiltered #MentalHealth #poem

... Read moreWriting a poem to your younger self can serve as a powerful therapeutic tool. It allows individuals to confront past traumas, embrace their emotional journey, and foster a sense of self-compassion. Many people often overlook the impact of childhood experiences on their current mental health. Addressing these traumas through creative outlets, such as poetry, enables a deeper understanding of one's feelings and emotions. Sharing vulnerabilities can also help build supportive communities that resonate with similar struggles, creating a safe space for healing. Encouraging discussions around mental health, childhood trauma, and resilience significantly contributes to a broader awareness and understanding. Engaging in such content empowers others on their healing journeys, encouraging positive coping strategies and professional help when needed. It’s vital, however, to also watch for signs of distress and seek assistance when facing overwhelming feelings. Always remember, healing isn't linear, and each step taken toward self-acceptance is a victory. As we share our stories, we may help others find their voices in the complex narrative of mental health and healing.
