Balancing motherhood while reflecting on my past experiences has helped me develop a unique 'healing era' mindset—one that combines resilience with the warmth of Balkan cultural truths. In Balkan families, the environment is often vibrant and full of strong opinions, which can sometimes come across as controversial or funny, depending on your perspective. Sharing these experiences openly allows for a deeper connection with others who come from similar backgrounds or appreciate the candidness of such reflections. Volleyball taught me discipline and teamwork, qualities that translate well into parenting and personal healing. The physical activity was a great outlet for stress, and the lessons in dedication helped me maintain focus through tough times. Being an athlete also infused a sense of confidence that supports me today. Motherhood, especially as a Serbian woman, includes embracing cultural traditions while adapting to contemporary life challenges. Humor plays an essential role in this balance—it helps lighten moments of tension and draws people closer. Ultimately, sharing stories from my healing era is both therapeutic and empowering. It invites others to connect, laugh, and reflect on the raw truths of life, identity, and family that many Balkan women experience. I encourage others to celebrate their backgrounds while pursuing their personal growth journeys with authenticity and humor.
